MEGALEGZ

MEGALEGZ is a high kicking sculpture built in collaboration with Duggie Dundas & Jamie-Lee Wainman.

The walking mechanism is inspired by the strange and beautiful kinetic sculptures called Strandbeest by Theo Janson.

These creatures were originally built from flotsam and jetsam found on the Dutch coastline.

They appear to have a life of their own; harnessing the power of the wind on the beaches they walk along.

For this artwork, deconstructing the ‘legs’ and learning how the Strandbeest walks allowed us to work collaboratively,
utilising and embracing neurodiversity, allowing the unexpected to be part of the process of the making!

MEGALEGZ is without a doubt, the creation of three unique minds working together!

The chandelier is constructed from 3D printed bio plastics, repurposed acrylic, and recycled materials.
